About Waiver Pulse
What this is
Waiver Pulse takes a daily snapshot of roster rates across public fantasy leagues: how many leagues roster and start each NFL player. Every snapshot is kept, so week-by-week trends build up over the season.
Metrics
- Rostered %: % of public fantasy leagues rostering the player, as of the morning snapshot.
- Started %: share of public fantasy leagues where he's in a starting lineup for the current scoring period. Players on bye show low start rates.
- Change (pts rostered since yesterday): the move in rostered % since the previous day, in percentage points, shown to one decimal.
- Drop Panic: players rostered in at least 30% of leagues before the move, ranked by drop rate = points dropped ÷ previous rostered %.
- Pulse score (0–100): our own blended number, recalculated every morning. About 40% comes from how fast a player's roster rate is moving in our daily snapshots compared with every other player, 20% from add/drop trends on other fantasy platforms, 20% from consensus expert rankings, and 20% from analyst buzz: how often the fantasy analysts and shows we follow recommend adding or stashing him versus dropping him this week. If a piece is missing on a given day, the rest are reweighted. It measures momentum, not player quality. 80+ is HOT, 60–79 WARM, 36–59 STEADY, 35 and under COOLING. It is a signal, not a projection.
- After waivers: on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings we may take a second snapshot after waivers process. It is stored separately and compared with that morning's numbers; it never replaces the daily history.
Methods
The snapshot is taken every morning around 9:30 AM ET from publicly available roster data across public fantasy leagues. Waiver Pulse is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by any fantasy platform or the NFL. If an update is late, pages show a notice once the numbers are more than 30 hours old.
